Can another person contact eCollect regarding my collection claim?

The information regarding payment obligations of natural persons constitutes personal data regarding the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and may not be disclosed to third parties without the debtor’s consent, unless the disclosure is mandatory to protect overriding legitimate interests. Anyone can contact us, but we may only communicate collection claim procedures with the addressee of the claim.

How do I submit inquiries regarding existing claims?
All communication within the scope of a debt collection procedure is carried out using our eCollect file number. The person who contacts us regarding a collection claim must also inform us in what capacity he is acting or what his relationship to the addressee of the claim is.

eCollect AG reserves the right to provide information about a collection case only to authorised persons in accordance with the applicable statutory data protection provisions. If the requested person is represented by a lawyer or a debt advisor or if an insolvency administrator is appointed, the latter shall present a corresponding power of attorney. If the legal guardian objects to the asserted claim for payment, she/he must prove the guardian appointment by presenting her/his guardian’s identity card.

*If any of the above requirements are missing, all communication with third parties will be automatically rejected.
